Грег, Вікі та Жюстін прибувають до міста і шукають квартиру поруч із коледжем. Кожен із них хоче орендувати квартиру 5А лише для себе, але оренда занадто дорога: у них немає іншого вибору, окрім як стати сусідами. У першу ж ніч Жюстін за шпалерами у своїй кімнаті виявляє приховані двері. Сусіди відчиняють ці двері, що ведуть до оббитої міддю комори, посеред якої лежить таємнича скриня зі скелетом молодого чоловіка. Відкривши скриню, вони випадково вивільняють привида Теофіля Ланжевена, який перебував там у примарній комі з 1957 року.
