Desafío — це реаліті-шоу, в якому група учасників має вижити, жити разом і змагатися на 4 різних етапах за великий грошовий приз. Конкурсанти розподілені на три команди відповідно до теми, обраної в кожному сезоні. Соціальні класи, покоління, регіони країни та ступінь популярності є елементами, що надають ідентичності цим групам. Ще однією особливістю «Виклику», що забезпечує успіх цього формату, є те, що умови життя в цьому змаганні несправедливі. Поки одна група проводить свій день у пляжному будинку з прислугою та вишуканими делікатесами (Високий пляж), інша група потерпає від повної відсутності житла та їжі (Низький пляж). У цьому реаліті, як і в реальному житті, команди зможуть піднятися або опуститися за рівнем комфорту залежно від результатів у територіальних Викликах
